Vote (Poll) on Snapshot

  • Voting on Snapshot is a straightforward, gasless process (free) designed to be accessible to anyone holding an EVM wallet.

  • Snapshot is an off-chain, decentralized voting platform, meaning votes are recorded cryptographically on a blockchain. Snapshot calls it voting but we internally call it polling because these votes are anonymous and only require an EVM wallet.

  • There will be a minimum of 3 votes in the Nektar Snapshot space. The purpose of these votes is to analyze engagements and understand who citizens may favour on voting day. The first vote will be called on January 12, 2026. The last vote will be called after no less than 1,000,000 votes have been recorded.

  • Anyone holding an EVM wallet may connect to the Nektar Snapshot space and may vote for one (1) state.

  • The five (5) states receiving the greatest number of votes will be the final candidates for hosting the International Academy and will move to the second round of votes on Tally.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how you will cast your vote.

1. Connect Your Wallet

First, navigate to the Nektar space on the Snapshot website. ( live January 12th, 2026). Look for a "Connect Wallet" button, usually located in the top right corner. Clicking this will prompt you to link your wallet to the platform. This step is free and simply identifies you as an EVM wallet holder; it does not require a transaction.

2. Locate your country

Once connected, browse the proposals within the space. Here you will see the list of countries you can vote for.

3. Review and Select Your Option

Click on the country you wish to vote for. When ready, select your desired voting option. You will be able to select Yes or No.

4. Sign the Message to Vote

After selecting your option, a "Vote" or "Submit Vote" button will appear. Clicking this will trigger a signature request in your connected wallet's interface. You must sign this message to confirm your choice

Crucially, signing a message is a secure action that does not move any assets from your wallet or cost any gas fees. The signature acts as cryptographic proof that you, the owner of the tokens, approve of that specific choice at a specific block number on the blockchain.

5. Confirmation

Once you sign the message, your vote is recorded instantly on Snapshot's decentralized system. You will see a confirmation that your vote has been cast. The voting power you possess is not determined by the number of tokens you hold. It is 1 wallet = 1 vote.

6. Selection of the Final Candidates

There will be a minimum of 3 votes with the last vote being called after no less than 1,000,000 users have voted. You will have to vote each time. The 5 states receiving the most votes on the last vote will be the final candidates to host the International Academy.

The final vote will be on Tally. We will post an articles on how to vote on Tally before the final countdown begins
