Core Influencer Strategies
Develop a compelling narrative: Your goal is to position your country as the ideal host by weaving together stories of your emerging youth athletes, a vibrant local sports culture, and the country's unique identity. Humanise the bid by focusing on the people, their passion and the uniquness of your country.
Highlight youth athletes: Feature young athletes from various sports, telling their personal stories of training, ambition, and community involvement. Their authentic journeys can create a strong emotional connection with potential supporters.
Create platform-specific content:
X (formerly Twitter): Provide real-time updates and commentary on news related to the vote and local sports, using relevant hashtags like #VOTE4THEHOST #VOTE4DAKAR and #WSADakar
TikTok/Instagram Reels: Focus on short, engaging videos of training montages, athlete "day in the life" segments, and fun sports-related challenges to engage a younger audience.
YouTube: Produce longer-form content, such as mini-documentaries on young athletes or deep dives into the country's sporting legacy.
Engage the community: Run interactive campaigns and contests that encourage user-generated content (UGC). For example, a "Why Dakar Should Host the International Academy" video contest or a photo challenge showcasing local sports scenes with a branded hashtag.
Collaborate with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Sports Movement in your country: Seek collaboration with your government, local sports organizations and official sports committees to gain access to exclusive content and official resources.
Partner with diverse creators: To reach a wider audience, team up with other influencers beyond the sports niche, such as food, travel, and lifestyle creators, to show different facets of your country.
Things to consider
Create a compelling hashtag: Develop a simple, memorable hashtag that combines your country and the International Academy of WSA. Read this article to learn more about the campaign's core hashtag strategies.
Showcase infrastructure and vision: Create content that not only focuses on people but also showcases the country's potential and need to host the International Academy. This includes lack or existing sports venues, travel routes, and the overall vision for the country to support youth and how the International Academy and Alliance Games are aligned.
Focus on legacy: Highlight the long-term positive impact hosting the International Academy would have on youth and community development. WSA values a lasting legacy that inspires participation and promotes the WSA values : PEACE THROUGH SPORTS
Launch a "virtual tour": For international audiences, create virtual tours of lack venues or existing sites, training centers, and cultural landmarks. This provides a glimpse of the country's capacity, need and charm.
Promote cultural exchange: Emphasize the educational and cultural exchange aspect of WSA by creating content that explores different cultures and promotes global friendship through sport.
Final Steps
Gather testimonials: Collect testimonials from coaches, community leaders, and, most importantly, young athletes about why they want to see the International Academy hosted in their country.
Leverage milestones: Align your content strategy with key milestones in the voting process to keep momentum strong. For example, a countdown to the final vote.
