How to Set up a Wallet

To join the campaign, you must link your EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) wallet to the campaign portal. Setting up an EVM wallet is a simple and free process. Linking your EVM wallet allows us to track your participation across our systems and, to distribute NK5 tokens at the end of the campaign.

1. Choose a Wallet

First, you need to select a wallet provider. MetaMask is the most popular and widely compatible option, available as a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge, and as a mobile app for iOS and Android. Other popular choices include Rainbow and Coinbase Wallet.

2. Installation

For browser extensions, visit the official website of your chosen wallet (e.g., MetaMask.io). Follow the link to your specific browser's extension store and add the extension.

3. Account Creation

Once installed, open the application or extension and select "Create a new wallet." You will be prompted to agree to terms of service and create a strong password. This password encrypts your wallet locally on your device; it is not the key to the blockchain itself.

4. The Seed Phrase

The most critical step is the generation and secure storage of your seed phrase (also known as a recovery or mnemonic phrase). This 12- or 24-word phrase is the master key to your funds across all EVM networks.

Write it down physically: Use a pen and paper.

• Store it securely: Keep it in a safe or other secure location.

• Never store it digitally: Do not take a screenshot, save it in a text file, or store it in the cloud. Anyone with this phrase can access and steal your assets.

The wallet will typically ask you to confirm a few words from your phrase to ensure you have recorded it correctly.

5. Accessing Your Wallet

After confirming your seed phrase, your wallet is ready to use. It will automatically connect to the Ethereum mainnet by default.

You can now use your unique wallet address (a long string of characters starting with 0x...) to connect to the campaign portal, send and receive NK5, cryptocurrencies and NFTs, and interact with the entire Nektar and WSA ecosystem.

Keep your seed phrase safe. You are now ready to begin your campaign !
